Just a quick and easy recipe for a pick-me-up drink. Try it instead of coffe or in the afternoon when you start feeling a little bit down, but need that extra kick to keep you going.
Have in mind that matcha green tea powder has caffeine, so try to avoid it before bedtime. I personally love it made with some dairy free milk and extra cinnamon, because spices! Okay, now off you go to make one for yourself - throw everything in a blender and there you have it. Five minutes of your time only for this pretty drink.
Cheers with a Matcha Latte
Serves 1 | 1 cup - 250ml | 1 teaspoon - 5ml | Total time: 5 minutes
- 1 cup of hot or cold rice milk (or other dairy free milk), unsweetened
- 1/2 teaspoon of pure japanese matcha
- 2 teaspoons of hulled hemp seeds
- a teaspoon of maple syrup
- a pinch of cinnamon
Add all ingredients into a blender and whizz until you reach a smooth consistency. Garnish with hemp seeds and cinnamon if you like. Easy? Exactly, I like it easy.
NOTE: if you don't have medjool dates, use one whole date right away as other types of dates are smaller than the medjool variety and usually not as sweet. You can even make some homemade almond milk and use it for this recipe.
